From the Microsoft software engineers comes a suite of easy to use system enhancements. While Microsoft does not endorse this as a released product it is very usefull in making system settings without having to resort to registry hacks.

Vopt Win9x - Win 7 ($40)

Vopt has got to be the safest to use defragmentation software available. The company, Golden Bow, attended a club meeting and gave a demo of Vopt. During the hard drive defrag the PC was unplugged. When power was reapplied the PC booted normally. Then Vopt was launched and the defrag restarted. Vopt continued and finished as if nothing ever happened to interrupt it. The speed of the defrag operation was also impressive. A fully functional (30 day time limited) copy of the software can can be downloaded from the web site.

StartCop 1.01 Win 9x/ME/NT (Free)

When Windows starts up, it automatically launches a number of programs for you. Some of these come from the Startup folder.
